St. Patrick’s Day Lessons

Simple Art Project– Green Pepper Prints- cut a large Green Pepper in half and use it as a stamp. It will make Shamrock shaped prints on paper.

Science and Shapes– Either use store bought sugar cookie dough, or make your own. Have your children make small circles with the dough to create clover shapes. They can either use a rolling pin and butter knife to cut out a rectangle stem, or roll a small portion of dough into a cylinder for the stem. Be sure to talk about the different shapes and what makes them unique.

After the cookies are baked either use store bought frosting, or make your own. Put a few drops of both yellow and blue food coloring into the frosting. Let the child stir the frosting to see the green color form. Then discuss the 3 primary colors (red, blue and yellow)

Family Activity– Build a Leprechaun Trap
